The Presonus had a bit more low-mids than the Focusrite which could be interpreted as warmer. The high end of both sounded the same to me. Both are very workable sounds for laying down tracks.

That presonus is better than that scarlett i have from scarlett version one to 3 and when i get the studio 68 it was leagues ahead so yeah ill be getting the quantum es4 for sure

Presonus has a weird electrical noise coming out of the headphone outs. I had to send mine back.

Focusrite is always a no go when you hit a certain experience. For a 2 in interface, that is pretty basic, 200$ is a lot. The autogain feature should not be that much highlighted, because beginners are supposed to learn by time how to operate the pre amp to get the signal to be far from the noise floor and away from the clipping area. The PreSonus card has better pre amp. It justifies more the price, compared to focusrite. But as an advise for everyone that reads this comment, TRY to buy something that will stick with you for a longer period of time. I know that 200$ is a lot for some beginners as I was there, but by buying a card for 200-230$, that once you understand the way audio works, will be replaced with another card that will have better conversion and so on. If you are an artist, that just makes demos of their song, to get an idea, sketch over it to go later to a studio and do the final version, then yes, those two cards are ideal for this purpose. As for a beginner audio engineer, try as much to get a deal on some older good stuff from the used marketplace. If research is done, 200$ in the used marketplace can bring more value than the new stuff. Great video demoing the two cards!

Hey Mr. Wavy, if at all possible could you do a review like this with the es2 and the hd. I sold my studio up north for money to move down south. I’m going crazy without a tracking studio. I record in studio one and presonus dropped these right in time. I wondering what’s the difference in sound quality between the two. If you can brotha… if you can 😅 #WavyTheMan
